You are warmly invited to join us on Tuesday November 29th, 7:30pm at The American Legion Post at 1003 North Ave in Westfield for The Union County chapter of the National Alliance on Mental Illness (http://nami-nj-uc.org) for an open and free informal evening of discussion of law enforcement training, methods, management and socialization. Lt. Jonathan Parham, a member of the Linden Police Department, and veteran law enforcement officer of 20 years will discuss attempts to bridge the gap between the police and the mental health communities by explaining the reasons for certain police tactics. Lt. Parham is currently assigned to the Professional Standards Division, where he Supervises the Criminal Intelligence Unit, the Counter-Terrorism Unit, and the Law Enforcement Training Unit. Lt. Parham is the founder and Commander of Linden's Special Weapons and Tactics team, former commander of the Street Crimes Unit, an FBI certified Hostage Negotiator as well as an adjunct instructor for the National Tactical Officer’s Association, The New Jersey Office of Homeland Security and Preparedness, and the Federal Bureau of Investigations.
